More from Vegas

Vegas is nicknamed Sin City and I'm sure you can commit any sin you want there. But on the Strip nothing is pushed in your face. It's a family kind of place if you want it to be. Lots of kids out with their parents, all having a fine time - fountains (Bellagio), pirate shows (Treasure Island) and volcano shows (Mirage) were just a few of what we saw while strolling the strip. Lots of groups having fun...
And if you really have to have an Irish Pub, well there are at least 3: one at the Mandalay Palace where we met a real Irish barman from Mayfield, called Junior and where we heard decent live Irish music, as well as eating a pretty tasty corned brisket sandwich!
No joy there with finding a live showing of the Clare v Tipp U 21 Munster Hurling Final (well they say you can have anything you want in Vegas!!)
As we wandered on through the hotels ( felt like Burt lancaster in The Swimmer) there were ample opportunities for photos with the wierd and the whacky!

Does my bum look big in this?
By now you'll be wondering why I haven't mentioned the gambling!! Well, when we were going Aidan had every intention of getting involved in a few games of 7-card stud or straight poker. (It's OK Mum, he had a limit!) He was disappointed to find that there was only Texas hold-em and something called Pai Gow. He has enough sense to know the limitations of playing Tex.. and enough sense not to play a game he never played before, so he didn't play! As for the slots, well, if I don't play them at home.... why contribute even more to the LV utilities budget?!!
So, we may be unique in not gambling in Vegas, but sure we're unique in lots of other ways too ;-)
