Just a quick report on Las Vegas... I can't upload photos now, but I will Friday. It's everything we expected and more. I just have to let my cynicism to one side and say that this place is AWESOME! The scale of everything is enormous. Our hotel has 4 wings and 36 floors of guest rooms, and it's not the biggest hotel by any means! On the ground floor, besides the casino (which is in every hotel) there is a whole village with a Parisien theme, shops, cafes, hairdressers etc etc. The Eiffel Tower foundations stand in this area too. Then, when you look up you find that it's an artificial sky!
Last night we looked at a few other hotels - Mandalay Palace (amazing), Cosmopolitan, huge, Caesar's Palace - of course and the Bellagio - we just watched the fountain show there.
There was a lot of walking. You know why? We had to invstigate the Irish Pub scene, in order to find out where we could watch the Clare V Tipp match this morning!!! More later - we got it on-line. Come on d Banner!!
And as for the heat - we knew it would be hot, but today it's 109F, that's 43C!! Last night it dropped to 90F... we thought it might get cooler than that but no. As we walked around the strip, we found that when we went into ACd buildings the sweat on our hairline chilled!! Now I must go, out to the pool - or should I say oven!
